The Drop Out Type Surge Arrester is a kind of lightning arrester, which is skillfully installed on the drop type mechanism after refitting the distribution type zinc oxide arrester.When the power is not cut, the arrester can be tested, repaired and replaced with the help of load-break operating hook stick tool. It not only ensures the smooth running of the line, but also reduces the working intensity and time of the power maintainers. Especially suitable for unsuitable places such as communication, airport, station, hospital, etc.
Condition of Use
Ambient air temperature within the range of -40℃ to +40℃;
Altitude above sealevelnot exceeding 2,000m;
Frequencyofthe A.C.power supply being 50Hz or 60Hz;
Power frequency voltage applied continuously between theterminals of the arrester not exceeding its continuous operating voltage;
Maximum wind speed not exceeding 35m/s;
The earthquake intensity not exceeding 7 degrees.
Installation Instructions for Dropout Surge Arresters
Rated Voltage Compliance: Ensure that the arrester is installed within the rated voltage of both the arrester system and the equipment line.
Pre-Installation Check: Verify the tightness and flexibility between the arrester and the dropout mechanism to ensure good contact.
Adjustment Method: Adjust the arrester by turning it on the copper contact (with pull ring). Ensure the sub-gate tension is between 6-10 kg. Keep the copper contact pull ring facing outward, secure the lower nut, and turn.
Installation Angle: Install the arrester at a 15-30 degree angle to the vertical line. Maintain a minimum distance of 200mm from the vertical line and at least 350mm between phases.
Terminal Connection: Ensure the high-voltage line is connected to the upper terminal of the dropout body. The lower terminal must be securely connected and not reversed.
Operational Notes: Pay attention to power distribution arrester notes before and after putting the arrester into operation.
Maintenance and Replacement: If the arrester needs repair or replacement, it can be done without interrupting the power supply. Use an insulating gate lock bar on the arrester unit for safe operation, similar to replacing a dropout fuse tube.
Post-Fall Operation: After the arrester unit falls, replace it to restore system protection. The dropout mechanism itself does not need replacement. Our company provides corresponding arrester units for such replacements.
